As EURO 2024 comes to an end, we reflect on what has been a European Championship with more fan activity, dialogue, and interaction with supporters’ groups than any previous edition to date.
Ranging from Fans’ Embassies and FSE match observations, the tournament’s Rapid Response Mechanism that was delivered with the support of our SAFER project, and UEFA’s Human Rights commitments which FSE contributed to, EURO 2024 has raised the standards expected for supporters travelling to national team competitions.
At the beginning of June, we looked ahead to the activities of FSE and its members were to undertake during EURO 2024, which included dialogue with the competition organisers. We experienced good cooperation and communication with EURO 2024, UEFA, Host Cities, local Fanprojekte, and the Police throughout the tournament. As a result of the collaboration, more activities including fan marches were permitted in all Host Cities.
It was a similar experience for many national team fan groups who also received greater support and visibility from their National Associations.
EURO 2024 has been a fan-friendly tournament, which is expected to set new standards for future tournaments.

Match Observations
- FSE observed 75% (38/51) of matches at EURO 2024
- FSE’s EURO 2024 Fans Survey covered all 51 matches allowing supporters to share their experiences
Fans’ Embassies
- 15 Fans’ Embassies were represented in Germany
- 43 out of 51 matches had at least one Fans’ Embassy present
FF Exhibition
- The Fan.Tastic Finals exhibition visited all 10 Host Cities across 42 days on tour
SAFER RRM
- An estimated 34% of match attendees saw the SAFER RRM visuals in the stadiums and at Fan Zones
- Fans could gain access to help if they needed it in all 10 stadiums via a Rapid Response Mechanism supported by our safer project
SLO summary
- 17 of the 24 national teams had SLOs attend the tournament
- 92% of matches had at least one National Team SLO present
